Working his way through the ranks of the supermarket,
Greg Calhoun went from bag boy to Store Owner in 1984 when he purchased his first store in Montgomery, Alabama.
He now owns six supermarkets (he once owned 15) with over four hundred employees working in Alabama.
Greg has also been recognized for many of his community involvements. He has received many awards but his two most prestigious awards are: being recognized as the National Minority Retail Firm of the Year in 1990 by the United States Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C., and being the only minority chosen to tour with President Clinton in 1999 during the Economic Development Tour.
Greg has been married to Verlyn
Calhoun for forty years. To this union they have three children, whom all are working in the family business. He is a member of First Baptist Church where he serves as a Deacon and on the Board of Trustees.
